  • Julie & Nigel Mallett from UK wrote "Visited The Gambia for the first time in January 2026 where we met Lamin at Kotu Bridge where he works as a bird guide, we arranged 5 trips with him after we had a good consultation with him where he listened to what we wanted to see, he discussed the areas, the terrain etc. we agreed to go with him and we were not disappointed, He was on time to pick us up each morning, his knowledge of the birds, their calls and locations are incredible, he has eyes like a hawk and can spot birds at a distance, Lamin most definitely knows his stuff. We saw so many different species with him more then we could have ever dreamed of. We are photographers and Lamin made sure we had the best views at all times. Nothing felt rushed with him. We had such a fantastic week with him we decided to fly out again in February and did more birding with him. Lamin tailored the trips to our needs, my husband wanted Ospreys and boy did he deliver, we didn't know where to point our cameras as there was so many Osprey coming from all directions. We are back again in January and will be booking with Lamin again. Book with confidence with Lamin and you will not be disappointed."

  • Visiting naturalists John and Linda Fitch described him as an engaging and highly experienced guide. During a field trip, Jobaate identified an immature Black-legged Kittiwake—reported as only the second record of the species in The Gambia at that time.

  • BirdLife International’s Red List team thanked contributors, including Jobaate, for the time and effort invested in supplying field observations for its Curlew Sandpiper assessment. BirdLife threatened-bird consultation

  • The Gambia Red Cross Society’s president described a WABSA environmental project as “timely and worthwhile.” Local community representatives also commended WABSA for leading and funding the project. This praises the organisation and project rather than Jobaate personally. The Point
