A seven-day birdwatching holiday combines The Gambia's celebrated coastal sites with productive forest, woodland, wetlands and mangroves. The route remains flexible around water levels, weather, recent sightings and your personal target birds.
Days 1–3: Kotu, Wetlands and Forest
Begin around Kotu Creek, Kotu Bridge and the rice fields for kingfishers, herons, waders and Senegal Thick-knees. Continue to Abuko Nature Reserve and Farasuto Community Forest for turacos, hornbills, sunbirds, flycatchers and roosting owls.
Days 4–7: Southern Habitats and Target Birds
Visit Tanji, Tujereng, Brufut and Kartong for coastal lagoons, woodland and migration hotspots. The final day stays flexible for missed targets, photography or a return to the most productive sites. Lamin adapts the pace for beginners, experienced birders and photographers.
